About Big Blu Furniture

Founded in the summer of 2013 in the market town of Stamford, Lincolnshire, Big Blu Furniture has set out to bring its customers some of the very best furniture available in the UK today. From traditional designs to contemporary style, Big Blu seeks to cater for as wide a range of tastes as possible at prices to suit every customer – whilst never compromising on the quality of the products we sell.

We’re a small company and with that comes a great service! All of your questions and queries come directly to our office and we aim to respond as promptly as possible. We love hearing from our customers and how they have experienced shopping for furniture online in the UK with us…if we didn’t we would never be able to learn and grow an even better service for you!

Our Products

We’ve found, and continue to find what we believe to be some of the very best suppliers and manufacturers of furniture in the UK. Our ranges are made from well sourced and high quality woods including Oak, Pine and Mahogany to name a few. We also sell furniture that uses recycled timber from old Indonesian fishing boats!

We continue to add to our ranges and seek to expand the options available to our customers both in style and price – some of our most popular pieces that provide fantastic value for money feature beautiful and traditional designs, manufactured using an engineered timber such as medium-density fibreboard.

Our Service

As part of our commitment to maintaining high standards and responsible furniture retailing, Big Blu Furniture is a full member of the furniture ombudsman. This means that if you're not entirely satisfied with your purchase - and we haven't managed to resolve the problem - you can contact them to look into it for you. By signing to the Furniture Ombudsman Code of Practice we promise to follow their decisions - ensuring that you get a fair deal. This means that you can buy in complete confidence when selecting your furniture from Big Blu.

Our Deliveries

We deliver using only pre-booked date and time slots and for the vast majority of our customers the delivery is free of charge. The lead times vary depending on the item you have selected, our shortest lead time is 6 - 8 days and our longest is 12 - 14 days.

We've set up a dedicated delivery page to provide you with all the information you need. There's a handy FAQ on the page too which will hopefully anticipate any questions or may have.

Your Privacy

What Information do we handle and collect?

  • We use cookies to help identify who you are on our site. This helps us tremendously to improve your shopping experience with us, for example our website will be able to remember the contents of your basket.

  • We automatically receive information about what products our customers have browsed most. Along with what browser type, length of time spent browsing and IP address details.

  • When placing an order, all customers are required to fill out their delivery and billing address, e-mail and contact phone number. All of these are required for us to sell you furniture and ensure the delivery process runs smoothly.

  • Every order you make with us is recorded in our system and can always be reffered back to, particularly if you still have your order reference number. However we do NOT store ANY payment details, our payments are handled through the secure third party payment gateway PayPal (see below for more information on payment security).

  • When asking us a question or query about a product, or even just saying hello, your e-mail address will only be used to answer the question raised. Providing us with your email address in this way does not sign you up to newsletters or updates from Big Blu Furniture, nor is your address passed on to any third parties.

What do we do with this information?

  • Cookies are used on our website to enhance and customise your shopping experience with us as much as possible. By using cookies our website can remember all your basket contents and any details entered into the checkout stages to prevent you having to enter them again before placing an order. When you return to our site having already placed an order your name and email will be stored within the first stage of our checkout process to make the process smoother and easier for you.

  • Any information with regards to browser type, IP address and time spent browsing is used to assist us in assessing our advertising campaigns and website functionality. For example, if we see that customers who use a certain type of browser never spend any longer than a few seconds on our site it may mean we have a problem with our site that only appears in this particular browser. This information also helps us to understand how many people like to come back to our site, even if they never bought anything. We have tried our utmost to make the browsing process as smooth and as pleasant as possible and this helps us to see how successful we have been in this, and where we need to improve.

  • Information that our customers provide, such as phone numbers and delivery/billing addresses are used specifically for the purpose of processing orders. All receipts are sent to the customers email address.

  • We do not share or sell ANY of your information details to any other party for marketing purposes. When you provide us with your email address for example, you will only ever receive communication from Big Blu Furniture.

  • All customer delivery details and contact information will be relayed to our courier company. Our courier company neither share this information with any third party nor use this information for any other purpose than for organising the delivery of your order.

  • All payments taken on our website are handled by PayPal, a secure third party service that specialises in online payments (see below for more details about PayPal). Big Blu Furniture never handles or stores any of your card details.

  • Every couple of months Big Blu Furniture likes to update our customers with our latest products and furniture ranges via email. You may unsubscribe from these updates by clicking the unsubscribe link at the foot of each of these emails.

Online Payments

  • We use PayPal to process all of our online payments. PayPal is a secure third party service that specialises in online payment gateways. More information about PayPal can be found below.

  • Each time you order a product from us, you will redirected to the PayPal secure server to fill in your payment details. Big Blu Furniture NEVER aquires or sees your card details. All Big Blu needs from you is your address and some contact information so we are able to deliver your furniture.

Some tips from us

We strive to protect your details and work to ensure your shopping experience with us is as safe and as smooth as it can be, however there are a few things you can do to help keep your details safe too. Here is some advice from us:
  • Maintain unique passwords for your PayPal account. Ensure that they are hard to guess and that you change them regularly.

  • Ensure that your computer has good antivirus and anti-spyware protection and that this is kept up to date regularly.

  • Install personal firewall software to detect and block out any unauthorised internet connections that could compromise your computers security.

  • Keep your browser up to date! Often your browser will keep you posted with new updates but it’s worth checking their website to ensure you have their latest version. This doesn’t just help with security, it also improves your overall browsing experience on our site.

Secure Payments

We take your payment security extremely seriously; this is why we use PayPal to secure all of our transactions. What does this mean?
  • We never see your card details. When you fill out card details in our payment area they are being sent to PayPal. We never have access to them. Your payment then arrives in our PayPal business account where we can confirm that payment has been made, arrange invoices for extra payments (for overseas delivery for example) and issue refunds - all without ever needing your card or bank information.

  • Robust PayPal security means your payment data is protected by one of the most reputable and well known payment service providers in the world. We use PayPal as it provides both unrivalled security and convenience - all at no extra cost to our customers.

  • You can choose how you pay with PayPal and you don't need to have a PayPal account to benefit. In our payment area you simply select if you would like to pay using your PayPal account or with a credit or debit card (PayPal account holders also have the option of PayPal Express payment).

Changed your mind? problem! At Big Blu Furniture we provide a no questions 14 day returns policy on all our products. Simply get in touch with us on and we'll arrange either a full refund or an alternative piece of furniture. We'll sort out the collection of the item you wish to return at a time and day that suits you, you won't have to do anything.

Please note that whilst we offer free delivery on our furniture products, unfortunately we are not able to cover the cost of return delivery and therefore a charge will be incurred (this does not apply to damaged products).

Our return delivery costs are as follows:
  • Small Items: £20 - This includes items such as stools, dressing table mirrors, side tables and chests.
  • Medium Items: £30 - This includes small sideboards, console tables, dining chairs and any large items that require assembly (such as some of our bed frames, dining tables and wardrobes).
  • Large Item: £40 - This is only for our very largest items, such as our large 3 door sideboards, large bookcases and large display cabinets - all of which are delivered as a single solid item that doesn't require any assembly.
