Terms & Conditions



These Terms & Conditions were last updated on the 15th February 2016.


By using this website and/or placing orders through this website you are agreeing to the terms and conditions laid out below. If you do not agree with these terms then you must not use this website either to browse or to place orders. We reserve the right at any time to change, modify, add or remove details of these terms without notice. Each time these terms are modified in any way the date of such modification will be noted at the beginning of this document. It is your responsibility to check this document for changes as we do not notify or make aware of such changes to our customers. If you continue to use this website and/or place orders through it after such modifications are made you are agreeing to the terms and conditions laid out as of the date at the start of this document. Please ensure that you take the time to read the terms and conditions carefully as it is important that you understand the contractual obligations that both you, the buyer and us, the seller enter into. 1. Product Specifications

1.1 We reserve the right to amend any of our product specifications at any time without notice.

1.2 Whilst we strive to give you the best images and description of our products, we cannot guarantee that images, colours or descriptions of each product are 100% accurate. Many of our products are hand made using natural or reclaimed woods and therefore have natural features that differ with each product.

1.3 The size of each product is approximate.

1.4 Some of our products may require some self-assembly. Most of our product descriptions clearly inform you whether ‘partial assembly’ or ‘no assembly’ is required. However we cannot guarantee that this is 100% accurate.

1.5 Some hardwood furniture requires regular treatment and maintenance of which we have no responsibility for. It is up to you to determine how best to treat or wax your furniture, we advise that you do this immediately upon receiving your furniture. 
 


2. Prices
 
2.1 All prices are in pound sterling and where appropriate include VAT. Should the rate of VAT change we reserve the right to alter the inclusion of VAT in the price and instead charge it at the checkout.
 
2.2 We offer free standard delivery on all orders. (See more about delivery below)
 
2.4 Any promotional prices or sales are valid until midnight of the day that promotion or sale is due to expire.
 

3. Orders and Purchasing
 
3.1 All orders are placed and received online via our website only.
 
3.2 Payment will be taken in full at the time of order.
 
3.3 You must pay directly by debit or credit card or via Paypal. The checkout will clearly display the total price.
 
3.4 When paying by debit or credit card, you are confirming that any necessary details required in order for you to purchase a product from us are filled in by you and are accurate and correct. You also confirm that the debit or credit card used is your own and that you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the order. 
 
3.5 We reserve the right to refuse to process any transaction without being liable with regards to informing you of a reason.
 
3.6 We reserve the right to cancel and refund any order at any point in time.
 
 

4. Delivery
 
4.1 We offer free delivery on all of our products. Our free delivery offer is only open to UK mainland addresses. However where possible we can arrange delivery for an address outside of the UK mainland. Please see section 4.11 below.
 
4.2 We aim to deliver within the time frame advertised on each product page and in the order conformation that customers receives via e-mail once they have placed an order, however this is not guaranteed. Please allow a minimum of 21 working days from date of dispatch for our carriers to fulfil the final delivery to your home.

4.3 For all orders - any changes made to the content of your order will have an impact on your delivery date. We may therefore be unable to deliver your goods on your confirmed delivery date should changes occur and if so, a new delivery date will be given.

4.4 You are responsible for providing a safe means of access from the public highway to the place of delivery. If delivery staff conclude that access is unsafe then we will not deliver the goods until safe access is provided.

4.5 If our carriers accidentally damage goods in the course of delivery our liability for that damage is limited to the repair, replacement or refund of the goods or the value thereof.

4.6 If items are received damaged please contact us immediately at customersupport@big-blu.co.uk  and we will rectify the problem as soon as possible. Please note we will require proof of the damage from a photograph in order to facilitate allowance, exchange or refund of the item.

4.7 Please remember that we offer free delivery, so we subsidise your delivery fees on these items. If you wish to return these items we reserve the right to refund less than the original purchase price. This is because we subsidise your original delivery fees which are absorbed in our profit margin, unfortunately we cannot do this for returned items therefore return charges will apply.

4.8 Time of delivery is not of the essence in these terms and conditions. We will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through any reasonable delay or delay due to unforeseen circumstances outside of the reasonable control of Big-Blu.co.uk, or any reasonable rescheduling of delivery.

4.9 Please note that we do not operate an express delivery service. The delivery timeframes stated on this website are for guidance only and may vary by a week either way.
 
4.10 If the customer decides to cancel their order after we have dispatched for delivery, but have been unable to due to any cause or circumstance beyond our reasonable control (including but not limited to, adverse weather conditions, floods or acts of god), the return delivery charge will be with the customer; see our return charges below.

4.11 Where possible we can arrange for delivery to addresses outside the UK mainland. This includes but is not confined to the Channel Islands, Northern Island, Isle of White, Isle of Man. Where delivery is arranged to an address outside of the UK mainland our quoted lead time and free delivery offer does not apply. Please contact us on customersupport@big-blu.co.uk for a delivery quote and lead time information.
 
 
 

 
5. Returns Policy & Refunds
 
5.1 You have the right to cancel your order within 14 working days from delivery. You must notify us by email within 14 working days from delivery with your intention to return the item. Please note that if the reason for you wanting to return the item or items is due to damage or missing parts you MUST notify us at customersupport@big-blu.co.uk within 24 hours of delivery.
 
5.2 If the delivered item does not fit your order, is damaged or incorrectly supplied, contact us at customersupport@big-blu.co.uk within 24 hours of delivery to arrange a refund or replacement. We will ask you to send us a photo of the damage for our records and to assist us in taking appropriate action. We will require you to return the item with care, as it might be necessary to return it to the manufacturer. Please include your customer order details with the package, as these are necessary for processing a return. Once received, the items will be checked and our customer service will contact you to advise you of the possible replacement or refund.
 
5.3 If you simply do not like the item, and wish for a refund, you must notify us within 14 days of delivery on customersupport@big-blu.co.uk. Please return goods in the same condition as received. We request that if you or the carriers open the box to examine the product please do so without damaging the box and packaging or damaging the product in any way. Please re-package as received in order for us to re-sell the item as brand new. If the carriers unwrap an item please ensure the packaging remains with the customer. Please do not allow carriers or any other party to destroy any packaging as we request the item to be returned with original packaging.
 
5.4 Once items are dispatched from our warehouses, return charges will apply if the customer cancels their order. See below for our return charges.
 
5.5 Items returned must arrive in perfect condition. Big-Blu.co.uk retains the right to refuse a refund on any item not deemed to be re-saleable. Returns cannot be accepted once the assembly process has begun.

5.6 We will not be liable for any damage or loss resulting from repairs attempted by you or third parties.
 


6. Return Charges

6.1 You will be charged a standard fee of £20 for any small item of furniture, £30 for any medium item of furniture and £40 for any large item of furniture that you wish to return. We do not accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit and your initial delivery charge will not be refunded. If you wish to return a non-furniture item, this includes cushions, wall art, hand-knitted pouffes and sofa throws the return will be arranged by the customer and subsequent cost of return shall be covered by the customer.
